“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted”… Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2

These words of Solomon were driven home to me last night. You might think I was deep in studying the scriptures, and I had some vision or a divine revelation; I wish I could say that was the case, but it wasn’t.

Actually, I was on my computer watching and listening to Peter, Paul and Mary on youtube. I grew up with their music and from time to time it is nice to take
a stroll back in time. The thing that struck me and what made this scripture come alive was that as I went from video to video, Peter and Paul started loosing their hair, and Mary started to gain weight. By the end of fifteen videos, Peter and Paul were balding and gray, and Mary had a microphone in one had and a cane in the other. They aged right before my eyes.

The thing that surprised me even more… their audiences were getting bald, gray and wrinkled right along with them. G-D gives us just so many days; some get more, some less. What are we doing with the time G-D has given us?

When was the last time you made a deposit in your heavenly 401k account, when was the last time you went out of your way for someone or did something nice for someone with no expectations of receiving something in return? When was the last heart to heart talk you had with G-D or the last heart felt “I love you G-D” with out a request attached to it? We are getting one day closer to eternity every day.

Just a thought…
