“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. Psalm 91:14-15

“I love that about G-D… He will deliver me. He will set me on high. He will answer when I call. He will be with me in the time of trouble, and He will deliver me and honor me!” Unfortunately that’s how many of us read Psalm 91:14-15. We don’t want to become one with G-D, we just
want His blessings. All those blessings only come after
I have set my love upon Him, known His name and called upon Him. Once again there are conditions to the blessings of G-D. I need to do my part. I guess that is why we are to love the L-RD our G-D with all our heart, mind, soul and strength! Too many times, we only call on Him when we are in trouble. I need, we need to be walking in all His ways, all the time, so when I call, when you call, that connection will already be there.

G-D is not the 911 call we make when we’re in trouble. He is the loving Father who wants to hear all the time from His children, with the big problems and the smallest ones as well. Did you notice that He never said He would make our troubles go away or that He would never allow us to have troubles? He said, “He would be with us in times of troubles.” He will be with us. We don’t have to go through anything alone… If we Love, call and know Him.

I guess that is why David was able to say… “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.”
