EDITORS NOTE: We were informed by one of our readers that the link to the US consulate was broken and indeed it is. To access their site with their new link  click here

It continues to be quite here in Sderot but if you ask anyone here they will all tell you September we will be back at war. I pray they are wrong but I too have a feeling it is not “IF” but “When” Here are a few excerpts from some of the news this week.

This story was in the news here in Israel two weeks ago, sad to say even tonight it is timely and still true…
US Consulate in Jerusalem website assumes Jerusalem is Palestinian, says nothing about Israel.
Dhimmitude from the State Department. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it, but it’s true: the US Jerusalem Consulate website seems to assume that Jerusalem is Palestinian territory. Israel? What’s that?
You must go immediately to the website of the US Consulate in Jerusalem (click here) Let me know whether you can find ANYTHING about Israel. As of 11:00 p.m. EST, every single entry/article/announcement is about the “Palestinians” or the “West Bank.” NOTHING about Israel. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. In addition, there is an option to link to an Arabic version of the site but not one for Hebrew.

Since Operation Cast Lead ended in January, 181 rockets and mortars have been fired into Israel.
Shortly after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned that every rocket attack from the Gaza Strip would be met by an Israeli response, Palestinian gunmen launched yet another mortar shell into Israeli territory – the fourth attack in the past twenty-four hours.
Nobody was wounded and no damage was reported by the latest round, which landed nearby a group of IDF engineers working on the perimeter fence on the border of central Gaza.

The United Church of Canada will decide during its 40th General Council this week whether or not to pass resolutions calling for a boycott of Israeli academic and cultural institutions – a move that has led Jewish institutions to accuse the church of anti-Semitic conduct.
The United Church’s proposal calls for its members “to advocate a comprehensive boycott of Israeli academic and cultural institutions at the national and international level.” The boycott would comply with the Palestinian Civil Society’s July 2005 call for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.DITORS NOTE
