Iran has smuggled into the Gaza Strip about 1,000 mortar shells, hundreds of short range rockets and a few dozen advanced anti-tank missiles over the past year, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) revealed on Thursday.
In a report summing up 2010, the Shin Bet said that Iran continued to serve as Hamas’s dominant supplier of weaponry throughout the past year, using smuggling routes in Sudan and Sinai. It was also instrumental in funding the training of Hamas operatives in Lebanon and Syria.
Now for the good news… Over this past year Hope for Sderot has given 10,472 baskets of food to the victims of terror in Sderot; that comes out to about 40,900 people that have eaten from the bounty of the L-RD through Hope For Sderot. Even with all that help we still receive 12-15 new requests for help each week.
Over the past year we served 7,060 sandwiches, 1,170 brunch meals, and 900 lunch meals. Approximately, 20,123 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables were distributed through out the year.
We gave out gift baskets for Tu ‘Bishvat, Passover, Rosh Hashanah, and Hanukah. We helped 12 families with medical bills, tuition, medical equipment, electric bills, school clothes and a Bar Mitzvah celebration.
Needless to say when we look back over the past year we have so very much to be thankful about and we praise our G-D, the L-RD G-D of Israel for His goodness!
To those of you who came along side with us over this past year “THANK YOU” and to those who did not seize the opportunity last year to be part of Hope For Sderot: the good news, tomorrow starts a new year and you can be part of this new year by clicking here.
From all of us at Hope For Sderot and the 40,900 people we helped, Thank you, Happy New Year and may my G-D richly bless you!
