One thing we all have in common… we all want to be loved. We want unconditional love that will love us even when we are unlovable.  The only source of unconditional love is from G-D… Ha Shem, talking through His prophet, Hosea, tells us, “My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him.  How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred.” When we are unlovable and undeserving G-D’s heart “churns” for us. He loves us.

Love, we are commanded to Love the L-RD our G-D with all our heart, mind, soul, strength. We are also commanded to love your neighbor as ourselves.  We are commanded to love G-D and our neighbors as well. No where does it say we will be loved in return. Love is not a bubble feeling but a conscious effort, a daily decision.
Geneses tells us, we were made in the image of G-D. That being the case, if He never stops loving us, never gives up on us, should we not do the same thing, no matter who that unlovable person in our life may be?
