Israel must comply with the demands of the International Atomic Energy Agency if the Mideast is to become a region free of weapons of mass destruction, Syria’s foreign minister said Monday. Foreign Minister Walid Moallem echoed calls by many Arab nations during the current UN General Assembly session for Israel to comply with the IAEA’s demand to submit its nuclear facilities to the agency’s safeguard regime and to adhere to the Non-Proliferation Treaty. The treaty restricts any nuclear program to nonmilitary purposes.
Israel has never said it has nuclear weapons, but is universally believed to possess a sizable arsenal of such warheads.

The attack came after two rockets were fired by Gaza terrorists in the evening hours, hitting south of Ashkelon and in the Eshkol region respectively. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond to any attack on Israel emanating from Gaza.

Palestinians in Geneva are already counting on a victory Friday, when they expect the United Nations Human Rights Council to agree to pass the controversial Goldstone Report on to the UN General Assembly in New York, and possibly on to the Security Council. “We have enough votes,” PLO Ambassador to the UN in Geneva Ibrahim Khraishi told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday, a day after the council held a six-hour debate on the conclusions of the four-person UN fact-finding mission that investigated Operation Cast Lead, Israel’s military action in Gaza.
Do you wonder where the balance of power is? Are you that naive to think the Moslem countries, like Iran are on the move to acquire power to rule in the UN? Have you in America forgotten that you like Israel are on Iran’s hit list and are referred to as “big satan”?

Imam Zaid Shakir has high hopes for Islamic scholarship in America – aspirations that include the first accredited four-year Islamic college in the United States. “Our goal is to attract top students,” Shakir told The Jerusalem Post, describing a mission to provide a liberal arts education and training in Islamic scholarship. “Where Islam Meets America” is a working motto for the school. “As Muslims, we need to develop institutions to allow us to perpetuate our values.”
One concern is “The school plans to offer a course in Middle East politics at some point. But Shakir said the way the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was portrayed would be left to the discretion of individual professors”. Just what are those values they want to “perpetuate?” “Where Islam Meets America” and you don’t agree with American values what will you teach? Will there be a hint of anti Semitisms taught or a seed of the big satan, little satan theology in the curriculum taught by professors left to teach at their own discretion?
