“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the L-RD our Maker. For He is our G-D; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice: do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, as in the day of trial in the wilderness.” Psalm 95:6-8

“If you WILL hear His voice”; if you “will”, if you want it to happen, if that is your “will”. After all, G-D has given each of us a free “will”. We can do with it as we please. He does; however, admonish us not to harden our hearts. Interestingly enough, a hard heart is a rebellious heart,
and it is found in the wilderness.

Yet the people who “will” to praise and worship, to bow the knee before the L-RD, they find themselves in His pasture and close to His hand, to lead and guide them.

So let’s see if I have this right… Rebellious and hard heart — you get the wilderness … Bowing down and worshiping — you get to be close to G-D and in His pasture. It seems pretty simple: sand or grass; alone or with G-D? I wonder how much water and green grass you will find in the wilderness… four days without it and you die. Isn’t it time to lay down on green pastures and take a drink from the springs of living waters?
