“One thing I have desired of the L-RD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the L-RD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the L-RD, And to inquire in His temple.”

What more could a man ever want, what more could a woman ever hope for? Is there any greater goal, anything more satisfying in life to dwell in the presents of the L-RD?

That big house in the gated community, when I first saw it I fell in love with it. Each of the kids could have their own room and privet bath. The master suite was almost the size of the apartment we were renting. I worked hard six days a week and many weeks seven day. The day came that I finally had enough for the down payment.

We finally moved in and life was wonderful. My wife and I and the hot tub; The kids their friends and the pool. Granted I still had to work six and seven days a week, but I had the desire of my heart. Then it happened, it seemed over night the rug was pulled out from underneath me and now, well now it is all gone. The bank foreclosed on my dream house after I lost my job last year and could no longer make the payments.

This is an all to real story and the results when we make anyone or anything our hearts desire other then G-D.

When I read this psalm when you read it do our eyes fill with tears because even though this is our desire we are faced with a life that falls so short and we are pierced to the very fiber of our being wishing I could love G-D more?

King David had so many hard lessons he had to go through to make him the man known to all of us as “A man after G-D’s own heart” Through all those up and downs in his life, the victories and defeats his constant desire was “That I may dwell in the house of the L-RD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the L-RD, And to inquire in His temple.”

Be encouraged today. David’s life was far from perfect, my life, don’t ask but its ok to fall and to stumble, it ok. I was once told that the only difference between one who succeeds and one who fails is the one who succeeds is the one who gets up after he falls and keep on going.

But we have to keep the main focus the main focus “One thing I have desired of the L-RD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the L-RD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the L-RD, And to inquire in His temple.”

Now get up and lets go to the mountain of G-D!
