As of today we have been given enough funds to purchase 43 of the 120 bags for the soldier unit Yaron Company. We are still 77 bags short with only a few weeks before graduation. The weather here as in the rest of the world has turned cold and the nights in the Israeli desert can be extremely long and cold. When we were approached by Matan and Eric the commander of the unit to help support the men of this unit we told them up front that we couldn’t make any promises but that we would come to our supporters and see if anyone would want to come along our side as we came along their side.

Matan will be sending a truck down this next week to pick up the items we have collected so far from the people of Sderot. We have a DVD player, a TV, games, books, music cd’s and even some sweet treats; all to go into their rec room.

It is still our hope and desire to be able to give each of the 120 soldiers the eight items Eric and Matan have asked us for help to supply: a scarf, gloves, stocking hat, a warm jacket, long underwear, a padded sling for their weapons and a back pack to put it all in.

So we humbly submit their request to Ha’Shem and to you. The cost per soldier is 140 shekels or about $40. There basic training will be completed mid to late December and they would like to give each of these new soldiers these items as they head for the front line defending Israel. We will continue to keep you posted as the time draws near to their graduation and deployment. If you wish to help, please click here.

With just about seven weeks until Tubish’Vat, we are still looking forward to and hoping to still be able to plant a “Hope Garden” in Afek’s park, An area with a bench or two, with sweet smelling flowers, a place to sit, to reflect, to consider G-D. We hope this will be a place to remember that our hope is not in man but in our G-D; a place where you can read and remember the words of King David “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the L-RD.”

Bedding plants cost less than two dollars each and shrubs are around ten dollars. If you would like to be part of this statement of hope to the people of Sderot, click here. In addition to the “Hope Garden” we hope once again to deliver fruit baskets this year to as many families as the L-RD provides for… If you wish to help please click here.
