We will celebrate Passover this year at sunset March the 25th. It is the first of the seven feasts of YAH as described in Leviticus 23. If I had to sum Passover up in one word I guess the word would be “Remember”, for it is a time of remembering, remembering where we have come from, where we are going and who has kept us all these years.

The Passover meal is probably one of the biggest celebrations of the year and one that the people we have been helping need the most help with. With special foods without leaven in them along with the festive food that goes along with the meal it becomes a problem if you are welfare, disabled or trying to live on a pension.

To add insult to injury our electricity rates have just gone up by 14 percent which means the average electric bill is now 1000 shekels. When you have an income of 2300 shekels it becomes a major problem. For the single mom who has a part-time job her 1800 shekel paycheck doesn’t go too far.

We have begun making plans now to help as many people as we can this year. Presently we will be able to help forty families this year but we are still looking forward to being able to help more families before the middle of March.

It is a hard thing to look at a list of 445 families and to decide which families need help the most when they all fall below the poverty line, but we are thankful for the ones we can help, and we know that the families we help this year will be thankful as well.

To all of you who make this help possible and who will make Passover this year special THANK YOU for your help. If you would like to help there is still time to do so and all you need to do is click here to get started.
