There is now a new threat to the citizens of Sderot; as if the daily threat of a Kassam rocket attacks wasn’t enough. We now are faced the reality of infiltrators from Gaze entering our city.

Monday morning ten Hamas militants dressed like IDF troops were spotted less than 2 kilometers from Sderot. They made their way from Gaza to Kibbutz Nir Am through a tunnel but were spotted and subsequently killed as they exited from it.

There are many tunnels the IDF knows about and the destruction of them is currently being carried out by the IDF but is coming at a great cost of IDF solders lives. These kids and I say kids because they range in age from 19 to 28 are giving their lives to protect our from terrorists who want to kill inocent men woman and children.

Kassam rockets continue fall in Sderot. One hit a home yesterday sending the occupants to the hospital in extreme shock. They were inside their bomb shelter when the terrorist attack took place and they were physically unharmed.

Shrapnel from the Kassam ruptured the gas cylinders which were right beneath where the Kassam hit the house. The residents which included two small children were all evacuated from the home as the fire department and the bomb squad responded to the incident.

The outgoing artillery towards Gaze can be heard constantly; that mingled with incoming Kassam rockets and now the threat of infiltrators, it is starting to become to much for some.

We have received call lately from people we help asking if we know of a family that would take them in for a few days or over Shabbat. During “Pillar of Cloud” we established contacts with people from all walks of life and from all parts of Israel that were willing to host a family.

After a few e-mail we were able to connect families that want to leave with families willing to host them. The reports we got back was they had a wonderful time and were able to unwind if for only a few day.

In some instances the families that want to leave Sderot need help with gas money. Remember that many residents that live here live from pay check to paycheck or paycheck to overdraft to paycheck.
As we are able, we will put fuel in there tank to help them have a few days away from living on the front lines.
We can only do this with your help. Would you please consider helping us with fuel to help a family leave Sderot for a few days? If so you can do so by clicking here.

We received a phone call from Dallah. She was in tears and besides herself. Moshe has been called up to active duty. Moshe her oldest some was shot during the “Cast Lead” operation in 2008. He made a full recovery and by the time the “Pillar of Cloud” operation happened in 2012 he was a married man with his first daughter on the way.

His reserve unit is one of the units that have been called up. To add to Dallah’s stress her youngest daughter started her basic training just a few week ago and the icing on the cake came when her second oldest daughter was also been called up… all three of her children are now serving in the IDF.

Moshe is the only bread winner in his family so their daughter- in-law and granddaughter have come to live with them until Moshe comes home. Because Moshe is not working the family is feeling the impact. Keep in mind most people here live pay check to paycheck or paycheck or overdraft to survive on a good day.

Dallah asked us if we could help with diaper; They were delivered the same day with the assurance that if they need more help just give us a call and we will do whatever we can to help them during this stressful time.

Your support is what gives us the ability to help, to be a safety net in times like this THANK YOU! Your help and support is always needed but even more now than ever before.
There are many families whose income has been cut in half because one of the family members has been called up to serve or has been reduced to a solders income.
We need your help so that when the Dallah’s of Sderot call for help we can be there for them.
