Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.” Geneses 1:31
Everything G-D planted was very good. He gave charge of earth to Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply. And in the fullness of time Eve gave birth to Cain and Able.

Cain was a tiller of the earth. He planted more then just seeds that would produce their food. He planted a seed of bitterness towards his brother, Able. That root of bitterness that Cain planted grew and yielded a harvest of death.

Ishmael planted a seed of bitterness, of jealousy towards his brother, Isaac.
Esau planted a seed of bitterness against his brother, Jacob. The sons of Jacob planted a root of bitterness against Joseph: and on and on it goes.

What G-D had planted was “Very Good”.  What man has planted has been bitterness, jealousy and death. We have all planted bad seeds in our lives and when that bad seed comes to harvest, we then realize and pray for a crop failure. Would it not be better if we think twice before we open our mouths, before we plant a seed that leads to wars; not only on a global scale but right in our own homes and families and those people around us. Isn’t it time for us to become one and to love our neighbor as ourselves?
